28 July 2016. Former names. Astra TV (2000-2005) Axia Channel (2005-2006) Former logo. Plus TV is a private national free-to-air television channel. It is the sixth private TV channel established in Cyprus [citation needed]. Its first official broadcast took place on July 28, 2006.
CyBC began as the Cyprus Broadcasting Service, with its first radio broadcast at 17:00 on Sunday, 4 October 1953. Programmes were broadcast in Greek, Turkish and English on 434 and 495 metres medium wave (691 and 606 kilohertz). The station produced a free weekly publication, Radio Cyprus. [2] Television broadcasting began on 1 October 1957.

Television in Cyprus. Television in Cyprus was introduced in 1956. In 1957, CyBC was created. [1] Private TV was introduced on 26 April 1992, by the church owned Logos TV which started its transmissions in stereo and Teletext from day one. In August 1995, Logos also introduced the first internet service provider in Cyprus, LOGOSNET.
