I gave up quickly. I’ve found a dead simple method to deal with the crappy Plex download feature. Step 1: set anything you want to download to download. Step 2: start playing a movie and just leave the phone/tablet on, open, and plugged in until the movie is done.

If you have the extension enabled and forgot about it, whitelist Plex in it, or disable the extension. Finally got Plex Prerolls working on my desktop application which I use on my T.V and this is how. I had to enable show 1 trailer in the desktop app, under settings>main>Cinema Trailers>Play 1 before movies. Disabled "Include Cinema Trailers from movies in my library in the web UI under settings>Extras.
Some advantages: Everything from the browser. Direct connection to Plex server for download (not via plexer.me) No backend. Credentials are used directly at Plex to get the token (thanks to which everything runs in the front end) Works without Plex Pass subscription. Works even if the owner has disabled downloads.
