The wired Cloud II is not compatible with Ngenuity. You have to use the buttons on the USB box to control it. The Cloud II launched years ago long before Ngenuity was a thing and they never updated or redesigned the USB box to work with the software. The Cloud II Wireless works in Ngenuity, as do a few of their other newer headsets.
7.1 support is not great, even when it works. So according to the NGenuity software the HyperX 7.1 Surround Sound is currently able to "auto-optimize" for a handful of select games. These games listed in the software are:- APEX Legends- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare- CS: GO- Overwatch- PUBG- Rainbow Six Siege
Nope it never worked for me. I have 3 versions of the Alloy Origins (60, Core & Full Size). I haven't had an issue with the Microsoft Store version of the Ngenuity software. Make sure your cable is fully inserted on both the PC & the keyboard, also make sure you have the latest Windows update & the latest USB drivers.

u/mrfroggyfantastic, it sounds like you have one of the rare microphone revisions where the firmware updater is unable to detect that the microphone is ready for a firmware update, resulting in the updater getting stuck at 0%. To understand this issue better, we recommend reading our support page: https://hyperx.gg/3RblqKk.
I downloaded Ngenuity software and it upgraded my firmware version and random static noise issue became worse. I had to download an Equalizer program and changed some equalizer settings and kept volume levels under 30. Now ngenuity updated itself to latest windows version, it can't detect my HyperX Cloud Alpha S anymore.
I can't keep both hyperx software active because they get in conflict and my mouse goes crazy, in the same time I can't see the batery level in the other app because is not compatible with it. Add more compatible products with your new software or delete it completly ffs. Mouse: Pulsefire FPS PRO.
The Cloud II was released a few years ago, before our software was developed and launched, hence the lack of software support. In terms of updates, there really was no need to have the firmware updated aside from the latest one which adds console compatibility since the sound card functionality was pretty stable and with no audio issues.
