Cassano's "Pizza King". The early images brought back memories. Cassano's celebrates its 60th year as a Dayton business (established in 1953). I just came back from Hannibal, Missouri... there is a Cassano's Pizza there, too. I just taught the owners of a local pizza joint here in Alexandria, VA how to make an "original" Cassano's submarine ...

Marion's pizza is great, but, I really like Joe's Pizza, on Airway Road. AllenN71 404 posts Dec 16, 2012 8:15 AM Yeah, I guess there are a jillion pizza joints to choose from, Billd. But the Cassano's/Marions rivalry in the Miami Valley is on a par with the Pat's/Gino's cheesesteak rivalry in Philly.

I was in the business for 30 years and knew Vic Ron and Marion. Both Ron and Marion were managers for Vic and they both made their pizzas very similar to Vics.

Jul 23, 2010. 10:55 AM. Sam's Pizza was owned by Sam Donisi. He had a store on Salem Ave. and one on I believe Linden Ave and one in Trotwood. Sam was the son om Mom Donisi of Cassano's. (It used to be called Vic and Mom's.) The pizza Sam made was almost identical to Cassano's Deluxe. But Sam's was better.

When my family lived in Wayne Twp., (Huber Heights), there was a Goldman's on Brandt Pike, north of Chambersburg Rd. It had a Cassano's Pizza King right next to it. JeffN 259 posts Oct 29, 2009 1:25 PM I think there was one on Linden, too, right across from Carroll High School.
