The 1st Air Force Wing Reserve, Philippine Air Force (1st AFWR PAF), formerly called the 1st Ready Reserve Air Wing (1RRAW), is a combat-support unit under the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) of the Philippine Air Force (PAF). Mactan–Benito Ebuen Air Base is located on Mactan island, [1] in Lapu-Lapu City, in the province of Cebu in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines. Mactan island is best known as being the location where the Spanish explorer, Ferdinand Magellan was killed by the forces of Lapulapu during his circumnavigation of the earth.
