Also, it is purported that RockAuto's warehouses are real distributors too. Ebay and the more random Amazon sellers are more problematic. J.
The question is not RockAuto but rather some of the brands I have never heard of. Since I am not in the auto repair business I am sure there are many brands of parts I have never heard of. But I would (myself) try and avoid buying any parts in the "budget" section unless its to fix a car you are selling or trading in.
So much for free trade. The other shipping option is International priority for $152! I emailed RockAuto and suggested they use UPS World Ease, which FCP Groton uses. They cover the brokerage, taxes etc and it's a reasonable cost. I did a mock shipment of $80, and the shipping was $22 to ship to Canada.
How reliable is Rockauto in terms of NGK plugs etc? I brought Bosch Rotors off them last month. 0 issues with that. But, I don't think you'd be able to tell the difference between Duralast rotors and Bosch. I think Autzone sells NGK Laser Iridium Spark Plug 96964 for $26.49/piece. Rock is selling those same plugs for $13.20/piece.
ROCKAUTO Another useless Pat Goss video. In another he says buy only OEM oil filters from the dealer. Now when RA is sponsoring this show, RA sourced parts are OK. IMHO I don't think RA intentionally sells fake parts. But they do source parts from closeouts and buyouts and excess from mergers, and so they might pick up just about anything that way.
Rockauto posted a picture of a "black" Wix filter and its part number implied a premium product. I got a store brand (as expected-- I ordered closeout) but the part number was a cross reference, and its suffix showed it was actually the lower-tier product.
