The single trigger Stoeger is a Rube Goldberg type mechanism. Some people have luck with them but a lot of people do not. For reliability go with the double trigger on the Stoeger. If you want a reliable single trigger you are going to have to spend a lot more money. +1.

My son gave it to me when I started CAS. It was STIFF out of the box. I bet I opened and closed it 3000 times while watching TV. it finally loosened up.
The Stoeger is $430 and the Cimarron is $460 but since it's been sitting for so long I might be able to get it for less than that. FWIW I don't currently shoot CAS but it's something I'm interested in trying. So for the time being it would mostly be just a "fun gun" that would potentially be used for CAS down the road.
Posted July 28, 2011. I've decided that a hammerless single trigger SxS is what I want, but don't know what brand would be best. I've looked at the Stoeger single trigger Coach Gun Supreme (not that there is much "supreme" about it) and the Cimarron on their web site. I can't see a Cimarron before I order, so it makes it that much harder to choose.
Especially on something like the Brazilian made Stoegers where stock dimensions are not held real close to a standard dimension. With most pad makers and when thinking about putting a pad on a small-volume gun like a Stoeger double, there's severe difficulty finding out if they even TRY to make a model-specific (pre-fit) recoil pad.
Posted May 13, 2021. The Stoeger is an entry level shotgun for Cowboy Action Shooting. The supreme model with skeet chokes work well. (Stoegers use winchokes) You will find that the loads for 12ga are lighter in recoil and are easier to load in the barrels than 20ga. The double trigger guns are more reliable.
