Solved: I am attempting to download an update for the Sims 3 Base game, and it asks for me to download the EA manager.
@legotech1 The EA download manger was replaced by Origin. Not sure if this is what you need as its not mentioned in your post but if it has not already been done then download the origin client using the link below.
So I downloaded the new EA desktop app when EA Play came to gamepass yesterday and I tried downloading NFS Heat. I was surprised to see the download speed was going from 400kb/s to 900kb/s. I checked on every other launcher like Epic Games, Steam and even on the xbox app/microsoft store and I was getting 6-10mb/s download speeds on those.

Having the same problem, have reinstalled the 'Origin', and when the launcher comes up I still get a message saying 'unable to connect to EA download manager'. Hello @Oliver_Hillary, Let's give the following steps a try to get your packs installed: Clear the cache for the EA App. Run the EA App as an administrator. Try lowering the UAC Settings. Check for any background applications blocking the app and your download. Try a clean boot on your PC and start the download again.
When you do that, click help then app recovery. I solved the issue! If you're having the same issue just go to the top left click the three lines at the top. When you do that, click help then app recovery. same with Anthem. says its downloading but it is froze on 0% cant stop it or reload it.

So I am trying to download games using the EA Play app on desktop for the first time, and it says Battlefront is downloading, but when I click download manager it just shows three loading dots and the game wont pop up. 4 people had this problem.
