The Emily Morgan Hotel, formerly known as the Medical Arts Building, is a 13-story Neo-Gothichotel near the Alamoand part of the Alamo Plaza Historic Districtin San Antonio, Texas.[1] Built in 1924 and standing 205 feet (60 m) tall, it was the tallest building in San Antonio until the Milam Buildingsurpassed it in 1928.
The hospital is named for Medal of Honor recipient and Texas native son [1] Audie Murphy, who died in a plane crash on May 28, 1971. [2] That same year, U.S. Congressman Olin Teague introduced legislation to name a planned Veterans Administration medical facility in San Antonio for Murphy.
